  • What is texthelp PDF Reader?

    As part of Read&Write for Google Chrome extension, with the PDF Reader not only can you use the literacy and accessibility support tools you know and love (include text-to-speech, dictionaries and highlighting), but we’ve added powerful collaboration tools to bring your PDFs to life.

  • Need help getting started with texthelp PDF reader?

  • Who is eligible for texthelp PDF Reader?

    Any student on an IEP or 504 can receive texthelp PDF Reader from AT.  Being evaluated for either of those documents does qualify the student for AT. Staff members can receive a free copy of Equatio following this link: Free R&W for Teachers 

    Make sure to use your @dpsk12.net credential, not the .org.

  • Do I have to request texthelp PDF Reader one license at a time?

    No, when you request Read & Write the texthelp PDF Reader is included.  You may have to go to the Chrome Store to download it.  You can do that: Here

  • Where is your main office?

    780 Grant St across from the Governor's Mansion.  Street parking available, no reserve parking available.  Sorry for the inconvience.

  • Are there other solutions for the same accommodations that texthelp PDF Reader supports?

    Good question!  Yes, there are other supports available.  The C-Pen and Clicker 7 are popular supports that overlap with texthelp PDF Reader.  You can learn more on their specific pages, or contact an AT staff member to help ensure the student receives the correct piece of AT for their needs.

  • Does texthelp PDF Reader work on non-AT devices?

    Yes! texthelp PDF Reader is connected to the students @dpsk12.net credential.  Any machine they login to with that credential the texthelp PDF Reader license will follow them.

  • What tools does texthelp PDF Reader have?

    Open PDFs in Google Drive, the web, or your local device, then use Texthelp’s PDF Reader to:


    • Collaborate in real-time on PDFs shared in Google Drive

    • Read text, including math & science equations, aloud 

    • Input math & science directly into your PDF with integration of the EquatIO for Chrome extension*

    • Translate words

    • Add text annotations using Word Prediction and Dictation*

    • Build vocabulary lists*

    • Add audio comments using only your voice*

  • How does texthelp PDF Reader work in Charter schools?

    The same as long as students are using their @dpsk12.net credentials.

  • Can I request texthelp PDF Reader with other supports, or do I have to choose?

    Yes! texthelp PDF Reader can be paired with other AT to fully support the students' learning needs.
